Another question, those shortcuts. I think they are called "macros".

In the van I have a laptop with a wireless ergonomic keyboard. When I've been driving occasionally something has landed on a keyboard and stuck a key. I think the OS has turned some of those into macros, so that it's painfully difficult to type on it. For instance, if I type "th" the cursor jumps up one line and back 8 spaces. I have to manually move it into place, and usually erase the next few letters I've typed. There are about 5 different key combinations which cause the cursor to jump and start entering letters somewhere else.

Does anyone know how to find those macros and get rid of them? I don't have the slightest idea. It's Windows 8.

By the way, it cost me $90 and 45 minutes of time with a Microsoft support person to install something that will enable me to use DVDs on the DVD player with Windows 8. I wish I could figure out Ubuntu, but all my efforts came to naught.

Thanks.
