Robert J. Sawyer's Neanderthals are doing pretty good for themselves
Well, besides the fact that you obviously survived somehow (and hey, don't blame my ancestors, it was those other distant Cro-magnons who did it!), you can take heart that in the alternate universe of Robert J. Sawyer, Neanderthals are a thriving species with a civilization that in many ways is an improvement on those often annoying and dangerous Homo sapiens.
