Possible fusion device begging for funds...

Followed a link to Eric Lerner's homepage and he's also involved in a group experimenting with a plasma focus for boron-proton fusion - an advanced fuel that only makes ionised helium and no neutrons.

...while I disagree with Lerner's cosmological opinions I'd really like to see a win with fusion power, especially fusion machines that have half-a-chance of being built at neighbourhood scale rather than mega-city sized (i.e. tokamaks.) A fusion machine that doesn't require multi-billions and 20 years has got to be worth a few DoE dollars.
