Terrorism from Algeria is not new...An Airbus haf been highjacked in december 94 (and it was learned the terrorists intended to crash on the Eiffel tower; that's why the GIGN stormed inside the plane while it was in Marseilles). In 1986, Paris knew a serie of explosions inside a metro station and on streets.
But France didn't invade an arab country after that nor has lost 2000 soldiers while being stuck out there.
