re: Quote search
My google search produced this:
John Newton wrote a hymn with the first stanza reading
Be still, my heart, these anxious care
to thee are burdens, thorns and snares;
they cast dishonor on the Lord,
and contradict his gracious word.

He lived from 1725 to 1807. No idea when he wrote the hymn in that time span though.
