There are always several for sale between 8 and 20 grand. Its coming up with that kind of money for a hobby that is the holdup for me. Plus the time to work on the car. I am hoping my son will help me on the project when he gets older, so I have a few years.
The DMC sells every part you could ever need for one, and they are very close so I wouldn't have to pay for shipping. You could build one from scratch if you wanted to with their parts (It would be expensive, thou, but if I had the money, I would do it that way).
And old VW bug might be fun to rebuild too.
