Hi, Nick.
How are you doing, Doctor Hoffman?
I recall the bet we made about a year or so ago.
It involves/involved my speculation and strongly held hypothesis that the
south side of Husband Hill in Gusev Crater may have a "cave" at the bottom
of the steep, terraced southern slope, where sapping is/was possible.
That lower southside of Husband Hill is where that infamous dark outcropping
or dark deposit lays.
NOw that the rover Spirit is making its way down to the southside of Husband Hill
by way of the easterly Haskin Ridge, it's time I bring to your recollection our bet.
I stand by my original opinion, BTW.
And...assuming that this major dust storm on Mars won't snuff out Spirit's electronics,
then in say two to six months we should have an definitive answer as to who was right and wrong on this bet.
Until then...
Cheers.
Jacob
OK!...Now that the rover, Spirit, is making its way down Haskin Ridge, I remember my bet.
