The overall death rates and causes for military personnel in peacetime can be found here.
To accurately convey the danger statistics, one would have to compare the approximately 2,000 deaths since March of 2003 with the number of all the troops that had been cycled through Iraq in that time, not just the static number of those there at any given time. I don't have that number, though.
