Fascinating.
Stepping repeatedly toward and away from the screen, I discovered a transitional zone in which the "calm" face is "male", and the "angry" face is "female". Also, since my eyes have markedly different focal lengths, there is a distance at which, with my glasses off, which face has which aspect depends on which eye I use to look at them.
