These folks can't afford to do what they're doing, and it ain't necessary anyway. (I ask ya, who ya gonna believe, yer President, or the Rest Of the World""!!) Once again, GWB in the lead, out in front, all my himself. Makes ya proud.
'Gas muzzlers' challenge Bush
By Roger Harrabin and Steve Hounslow BBC News
"President George W Bush is facing a rebellion over his softly-softly approach to climate change.
Nine north-eastern states are poised to sign an agreement setting Kyoto-style legal limits on greenhouse gas emissions from power stations.
"California is hoping to cut emissions from cars by 30%, New York and New Jersey are among these rebel states.
"And in California, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is forging ahead with legislation to cut emissions from cars by 30% within a decade. This could transform the motor industry.
"Meanwhile, 187 mayors from US towns and cities, representing 40 million people, have pledged to adopt Kyoto targets for reducing greenhouse gases.
"Some leading American transnational firms are also demanding mandatory cuts in CO2 so that they are not isolated as the developed world moves towards a low-carbon economy."
One can understand these chicken-livered over-reactors, they make money from studies.
World scientists urge CO2 action
"The statement will increase pressure to cut CO2 emissions
"The science academies of the world's leading nations have urged their governments to take prompt action to combat possible climate change.
They have agreed that all countries could and should take cost-effective action to cut carbon dioxide emissions.
"The statement was released on Wednesday by the academies of the G8 nations, including the UK's Royal Society and the US National Academy of Sciences.
"It was signed by scientists from 11 countries, including China and India."
But these bird-brains are doing it too. For no good reason.
Climate response risks to nature Last Updated: Thursday, 3 November 2005, 18:35 GMT

"Many species are shifting at an inappropriate rate, and this must in the end be detrimental
"Some animals are responding to climate change in ways which could threaten their survival, a new study finds.
"Scientists showed that migration and breeding of the great tit, puffin, red admiral and other creatures are moving out of step with food supplies.
"The researchers say the rapid pace of climate change, together with pressures on habitat, make it difficult for species to adapt. "
They should ask the Prez - their ain't no stinkin' climate change.
It's a damned shame there is no global warming.
