What Marx wrote is completely irrelevant to the real world application of his ideas. If even a small percentage of Marxist nations had turned out prosperous and non-oppressive, you'd at least have something to go on.
A concept that has screwed up universally across the planet, under countless different variables of culture, race, language, resources, and anything else you can imagine, is not worth further experimentation. And someone who wants to try it again, saying "this time for sure," deserved the title of imbecile.
Read it? Do I need to read a book on physics to know that jumping off the top of the Empire State Building is a bad idea? Go to the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people around the world who have escaped such regimes for free societies. Tell them they have no business judging their previous nation without reading Marx first. I'd buy a ticket to see that.
But then for the Left, I guess results are not nearly as important as intentions.
