The evolving framework for
consciousness, life, and personal/social identity will be changing much faster than logistical possibilities of moving around environmental bubbles for fragile lifeforms. In a century or so it will be commonly understood that the traveller must alter in all respects to fit the destination and the process of reaching it. Hence the romance of "manned" space travel will give way to something much more complex, classical, and intriguing.
