metallic hydrogen as propellant
hello all,
I am very interested in the concept of using this "exotic state" of hydrogen as a chemical propellant.
specifically I want to determine if the advantage over current hydrogen methods would result because of a better specific impulse or merely because of the compact nature the metal version vs. the liquid/gas.
a practical question might be, how much could you scale down the delta IV launch vehicle if the liquid hydrogen were instead metallic?
