Leonids Storm

I was fortunate enough to have one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences with a Leonid storm. There were literally hundreds of meteors, all as bright as that one, flashing sequentially across the sky. The storm lasted for ~ 40 minutes one morning just before dawn. I dragged my young kids out of bed and drove them up to a ridge with good views and they were impressed.

The meteors were mostly blue-white but had some greenish moments as they burned out.
