A lot of good talent comes out of Southern Ontario.
And being a Canadian from that area, I grew up listening to Lightfoot.
And that is a haunting song. A classic.

I had a friend who used to hang out with Lightfoot.
As a matter of fact, he brought Jack Nicholson (the actor) over for dinner in 1973 when they were up in our neck of the woods shooting "The Last Detail". They had been out skiing.

Nicholson was after Lightfoots' girlfriend (Kathy Smith) at the time prompting the song "Sundown" ("Sundown you better take care, if I find you been creeping down my backstair....."). I always laugh when I hear that song because I know the story behind it. Gordon nicknamed Jack "Sundown".
