You seem to think Bin Ladin has a higher purpose then Zarqawi...So in a real sense Zarqawi can only hurt Bin Ladin's cause...Don't you think Bin Ladin will turn against Zarqawi then at some point?
Or is Bin Ladin just gonna bear with Zarqawi and allow him to destroy everything that Bin Ladin has worked for?
I really doubt it. I think they are two fools who are one and the same.
Both think that they can destabilize the Middle East region through terror. They are fools because they have no idea what they are really up against. If either man shows himself in public, then he is dead...And their deaths will be staged in a way that is used to humiliate them and further destroy their "cause".
I think Bin Ladin and Zarqawi are failing miserably.
The only governments that are being destabilized by their terrorist tactics are those governments in Damascus and Teheran. Those terrorist governments are becoming increasingly paranoid and with good reason...The governments that have supported the US led war on terror are more stable than ever (Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, etc...)
The US supporting governments have active intelligence agencies of their own...They too are using the Iraqi conflict to their respective government's advantage... What a great way to identify, target, and eliminate, the enemies of their own states: Find the individuals most likely to support the terrorists (they are also the ones most likely to oppose the established governments in the region) and then allow them to commit suicide for "their cause" by selling them out to the Americans.
Of course it goes even deeper than that as they can use alliances and other spy vs. spy techniques to ferret out those individuals within their own governments who would seek to destroy them from within, and they can use the conflict to put agents in place in places like Teheran and Damascus, further destabilizing those threatening governments.
How wonderfully Machiavellian!!!
Can you imagine the clandestine battles of political intrigue that have been waged in the War on Terror that we don't even know about!
The US War on Terror is a wonderful opportunity to consolidate power for those who support it. Bush, Rumsfield, Cheney, and Rice have put in place a truly Gobal War on Terror that will continue long beyond the Bush Administration's time in Washington DC.
And best of all, the Democrats in Congress are powerless to stop it!

Is Zarqawi hurting Bin ladin's "cause"?
