ROME, Italy (Reuters) -- The Italian parliament approved on Wednesday a radical overhaul of Italy's constitution, strengthening the powers of the prime minister and handing more decision-making muscle to the regions.
.........
Among the bill's many features is a proposal to give Italy's 20 regions full autonomy over health, schooling and policing.
It will also transform the Senate into a federal, rather than national, legislative body and give the prime minister more clout, enabling him or her to hire and fire ministers and to dissolve parliament.
Federalism comes to Italy.
