History teaches us launches and landings are the most dangerous phases of spaceflights.
Therefore, the vehicle should be as compact, solid, simple, lightweight, small as it possibly can be.
Soyuzes are still there! It's an indication!
A winged vehicle instead? But wings and wheels are not needed until the very end....
