More than 5,000 people signed a condolence register on an impromptu Web site set up to honor the bird, and Dutch media reported that the guard who shot the bird received death threats.
This must be a joke. But then again, "far/extreme/radical right-wing" Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn was assassinated by an "animal rights activist" (no one say "left-wing extremist" - the European media certainly didn't).
