Where is the message of support from JHUAPL?

John Hopkin's University Applied Physics Laboratory made history in the year 2001
by landing NEAR on asteroid Eros, taking a close-up image from 110 meters
from the asteroid surface.
The Japanese Hayabusa spacecraft took an image from 70 meters from Itokawa.
Why hasn't JHUAPL sent a message of support and or congratulations to JAXA?
