Current Events » in reply to Iraq a lost cause?

Think about it!

The deaths. Include the wounded, the kids without parents, on both sides.

The financial burden. For the US it's $222 billion and counting.

The damage to the military, equipment, failure of leadership. They've had everything for which they've asked, and we're here.

The outcome. A destabilized region, a haven for al-Qaeda, the scorn if not hate from the ROW over what really is a religious Crusade.

The American disgust with the political leadership, and the lies become more and more evident and the promises become more and more obviously impossible.

For some version of "democracy" in Iraq, AT BEST! And that ain't happening either.

But let's say that there is a "democracy" in Iraq, the best of all possible outcomes, they throw the US out, as they've started to do, and the US is still stuck with all the above.

Wasn't worth it.

Oh, yes. Halliburton made a bundle, there's oil for Bush's cronys, and Sharon is delighted. Americans are dying for that.

Still isn't worth it. Some say Iraq is lost, and they're right.
