I have read....
that in Islamic culture child sex is considered an acceptable sublimation of adult lust. I am sure that this cultural bump is not indorsed by the Islamic clerics. I am not sure that it is any more prevalent than our problems with pedophilia so any links to the subject would extremely controversial.
On the Islamic legal side, I think that the burden of proof for crimes of any sort is higher than in our culture. Multiple eye witnesses are required and there is no circumstantial evidence of the kind that Michael faced in his trial.
