You spend a lot of time fixating here on what Tom has said and done.
Tom isn't the government, as far as I know his only contribution to the political actions of our government are expressed by his voting for candidates of his choice.
Even if Tom has a lobotomy and is somehow converted into an anti-US in Iraq, milblogger hating, democrat-by-default voter-his vote still is only one vote and won't make a heckuva a dent in US foreign policy or the actions taken by the US military.
The US military has had a PR department since 1942. After WWII, we waged a fifty year PR campaign in many parts of the world opposing violence, communism and dictators. Nothing's changed. In this instance, when dealing with historically illiterate folks who hear only gossip and religious propaganda, sometimes the US military is wise to create a counter-influence on such damaging ignorance.
Your outrage is the desired response by those who wrote this anti-America and distrust the US military propaganda piece. They play folks, much like yourself, like a Stradivarius and most aren't even aware of it.
Be my guest-do their bidding.
If I were Tom, I'd start getting worried. Folks here have channeled much of their BDS upon him as some sort of conservative symbol or archetype. It may be time to replace the raccoon massacred fish in the pond with trained screaming Piranha.

Current Events » in reply to You screamed yer guts out about CBS. Heh, heh. Bush has corrupted all yer sources. And you bitch about the media.
Do you have crush on Tom? ;-)

- Say it ain't so!! "U.S. Military Covertly Pays to Run Stories in Iraqi Press"
- Well, the L.A. Times ought to know something about propaganda.
- DOD or someone is paying LATimes to write stories a particular way?
- Why don't they buy ads? That would be honest.
- Psychological Warfare is not new. What's the problem?
