SOHO originally conceived for a 2 year mission and has experienced a few mishaps during its life, but now is celebrating a 10 year anniversary today.

From discovery of over 1,000 comets to warnings of corona mass ejections headed for earth SOHO has been a valuable spacecraft in understanding the sun and has created great public interest.

Many amateur astronomers have viewed and imaged sunspots and solar flares with the help of SOHO's continued information provided for all the world.

I have to think that the SOHO mission is one of the greatest achievement of ESA and NASA working together.
