PR problem

Of course, this appearance of effortlessness is a problem in itself. All that money spent for something that is made to appear almost mundane and routine. If you are not excited by the spectacle of strange landscapes on a distant planet, then what are you getting for your money?

The Japanese get a soap-opera style crisis-to-crisis space programme with lots of newsworthy "rescues". Maybe NASA needs to make more of the glitches - like getting bogged in a drift, millions of miles from home, and now an arm problem.

Remember how quickly Apollo faded from the front pages?
