Winning in Iraq
From the news story;
A rare exception to the barrage(or negative Iraq news stories) was the recent Fox News special "Winning in Iraq." It opened with the happiest and most hopeful of activities — a wedding. It seems weddings in Iraq have more than doubled since before the war under Saddam. And they don't have to worry about Uday or Qusay showing up uninvited.
We were also shown a bustling Iraqi stock exchange in its infancy and one of the 44 commercial TV stations now in operation. It's run by an Iraqi businessman whose right hand was sawed off by Saddam's "surgeons" at Abu Ghraib. Now he has an artificial hand attached by American doctors.
It's easy, and natural, for American media to ignore the schools being built, the hospitals stocked and open, the areas that have clean drinking water for the first time, and the brownouts caused not by a damaged power grid, but from a boom in big-screen TVs, computers and the latest appliances.
I caught the Fox News Special, winning in Iraq. There are a lot of positive things going on over in Iraq that the mainstream media is ignoring.
Wedding are on the rise in Iraq. New Iraq Stock Exchange up and running.
