it would not have been polite.
I felt it was sufficient merely to point out that Japan has clearly matched the US in this field of research and in these technologies. For the goal at hand, I thought that it was only necessary to do this, and not necessary to point out the additional Japanese achievements, or the journalist's failure to highlight them in his report.
