The sky tonight
Late this afternoon, I went to the port with my Sony DSC-V1 digital camera and saw Venus (the planet Venus Express is heading to), then turned slightly to the east and saw Mars and the Moon (left to the Moon, with the Cathedral in between and the christmas lights). Mars is been orbited by Mars Express, Mars Odyssey, MGS and with Oppy and Spirit on the surface!
Then later, back home, I took the Moon (Copernicus on the left, the Appenines) Currently orbited by Smart-1.
Then Saturn (the most brilliant one; 200 ASA 20 seconds exposure) which is now explored by Cassini...(I saw Titan through the scope too, visited by Huygens 11 months ago)
2 moons, 3 planets, all explored by reliable robots, mankind's emissaries...
