re: OPPY 2 Victoria Crater..how long?????

Well - it's hardly Martian winter 'setting in' - we're a good 200 sols from getting into real winter. It's early Autumn.

Opportunity is actually some distance from Victoria, with the Purgatory event, fairly difficult terrain to navigate around, and the recent IDD problem - but is on the Western edge of Erebus crater, perhaps 2/3rds the way to Victoria crater.

If it can get there (and I wouldnt like to give odd) then it's been described in a PPT I've seen as a good 'end of mission' place - i.e. go in even if they're unsure of getting out - and it may provide slopes (which will be hard to come by in the etched terrain) to give favourable power during the winter when it arrives.

Ditto Spirit - it's heading out to the area between two of the Columbia Hills - the intention being to be back on an N facing slope for next winter.
