Swing-Wing design was not a real winner.
Expensive, difficult to maintain, troublesome. It was a bad idea at the time, but resulted in the F-14 and the nearly worthless F-111 (and the Soviets even copied this poor concept.). Swing-Wing design is a loser, the proof of which is how many have been made in the past couple of decades.
