At first I suspected this might be a joke, but apparently it is not. This sort of tampering/contaminating of human genetics by animal biological matter is what gives birth to new and unfamilar human diseases.
Stalin was history's largest mass murderer and completely certifiable. His behavior isn't much of a surprise. It's even more disturbing to consider the mentality of the Russian women who would submit to such experimentation.
I must assume they were given no option. For not to assume such is too creepy to contemplate.
