Another Anniversary
December 20 is the ninth anniversary of the passing of Carl Sagan.

His presence is greatly missed, but that does not mean we all just lay down
and let the forces of ignorance and superstition run over us. We need new
voices to follow his.

As just one space-related example, there very likely would have been a
detailed message disc on New Horizons spacecraft had Sagan been around.
Instead, only the fifth probe to ever leave our Sol system will do so with
just the equivalent of trinkets.
