I asked those very same questions this past fall and was told that they have been slacking on their SETI projects and that the person who handles their SETI division would look into it and get back to me.
Still waiting roughly 2 months later.
In 2000, TPS began their own Optical SETI project with a brand new telescope in an observatory on the site of their old BETA project with the 84-foot radio telescope that came crashing down in a windstorm in 1999. BETA appears to be abandoned, but I never
learned that from TPS.
The TPS Optical SETI telescope has a 75-inch mirror. No tinker toy, to be sure (Hubble's mirror is 94 inches in diameter). But *nothing* has been reported on the project since 2002, and no one outside TPS seems to be covering it (but please prove me wrong here).
I think after THREE YEARS of no news for such a telescope and project, which I and many others donated money to, TPS can take the time to contact the folks at Harvard and let us know what is happening, at the least.
It is pretty obvious after Carl Sagan's passing in 1996 that TPS support for SETI has dwindled considerably in the following years. Either they should get back on the wagon and at least get their Optical SETI observatory operational, or stop pretending they still support SETI and focus their energies and resources elsewhere - which they already are with the planetary missions as anyone can see by a quick trip to their Web site (planetary.org).

TPS and SETI - or lack thereof
