The Left does coddle criminals. Particularly those on their side.
Hating America? Don't ask me, but I've never seen any leftist blame any other country or culture for the ills of the world. I've never seen any situation where the Left did not side with the adversaries of the U.S. against their own country. Not one.
Hell, they spent the entire Cold War sucking up to the U.S.S.R. and every communist bye-blow that popped up around the planet. Back then you could tell which side a leftist would be on in an international situation by simply asking which side was communist/pro-Soviet and which anti-communist/pro-America.
They like other people paying high taxes.
The Left has attacked traditional families and values all my life. In some demographics over the years, they have succeeding in practically annihilating them.
You don't have to do something "right" to take over. You just have to be more ruthless and singleminded than the other side.
