I guess everyone who didn't must be an asshole.
The BS in Economics (Stanford, '78) who tried to sell me a new car the last time I went to get mine serviced "chose" to give up his posh job selling commercial real estate and wound up working for straight commission selling Japanese cars. He blames Obama. Now THAT is an asshole. He should have just borrowed money from his father and become an entrepreneur.
Complaining that you're not as prosperous as you think you're entitled to be, or even as much as you once were, has nothing to do with your politics. It probably doesn't have much to do with politics in general, either. I believe its about 50-50 between skill and luck. But no one wants to admit they don't have enough of the former, or that the latter makes any difference at all.
