I suspected that about the DVD read capability, but since I wasn't planning on using that to stream to the office I wasn't too worried. The plus came when I tried using it at home and found I could now play DVDs on my home computer whereas I couldn't before. It seems to me that if you buy a DVD Rom for your computer it should be able to play DVDs without having to buy a decoder seperately. I know its far more complicated than that though.
