re: The decline of Pacifica Radio
This outfit is probably more important here in the Bay Area than a lot of other places.
Oh please, Tom, KPFA in BerkeleyLand? There are high school radio stations in the Bay Area with wider audiences. Will you quit trying to pull everybody's leg with these crazy stories about California?
It's time I let you in on a little Liberal secret, guy. In the late 1970s, a secret cabal of Lefties engineered the replacement, in situ, of Berkeley, Santa Cruz, Cambridge, and a few other Landmarks of the Left, with detailed replicas, complete with underground maintenance tunnels and the latest in animatronics. These sites are basically theme parks, in part to provide a basic education for Liberal Youth in the history of the Revolution as they play the part of 60s Leftists trapped in amber. But a larger purpose of this elaborate scheme has been to give the Right something familiar and comfortable to fixate on and rail against, while the rest of us moved forward under their cover.
Berkeley is of course the flagship park, and KPFA is basically its Muzak system, playing a steady stream of 60-ish chatter to provide background and color for this amazing historical reconstruction.
And you fell for it!
