"Rapid troop rotations threaten institution, Pentagon-sponsored study says"
A country the size of the US, with by far the largest war budget the world has ever seen, has invaded two third-world countries which were not a threat.
It did now use enough manpower to control the situation in either case. Did not want to be compared to Vietnam. To which it's identical except in scale. For political reasons the people on the ground did not have enough support to accomplish the mission, no matter what banners their personally fearful but with protection fearless leader flies.
And those third-world countries, with their rag-tag resisters and improvised weapons, with no major power supporting them, are grinding that countries military into the ground.
By their own study.
What happens when ego decides to go to war, politics drives the military operations and there's no military objective.
With the DoD budget, - "Report: Army could be near breaking point"
