Alcaray “A) The vote is a greate accomplishment for people who never had much say in their govt. before. Don't pay too much attention to who wins, just enjoy that there's a vote at all. Failure to do so means you are a traitor. [hyperbole noted, but I bet I could find some justification for the hyperbole if I looked for it] “
Yes, I am glad they are voting instead of shooting. Now if they would not shoot at their neighbor I would be really happy.
Alcaray “B) This is a horrible and terrible thing, this vote in Palestine. Who won is the only thing worth considering. I don't care if Palestinians voted to choose their own future or not.â€
This outcome is bad. I agree with you there. Hamms (sp?) is bad news. But even if the other party had won, I don’t think there would be peace between Palestine and Israel. But, I will say, peace would have had a better chance under the other party.
Alcaray. “Consider further (walk a few steps in my shoes, just for fun): being on the receiving end of a page or two of A, accompanied with the insults typically aimed at liberals around here when there's something that Bush needs credit for. Don't you think a person in my shoes would be moved to point out the times when people in your shoes are shouting "F__K DEMOCRACY!"? “
Sure, I can see that, but I am not shouting "F__K DEMOCRACY!“ at this Palestine election. I am just not to hopeful that whatever the outcome there will be peace between Israel and Palestine. I hope I am wrong there. I am thrilled they have elections.
Here is something for you to consider; someone who took the opinions of two posters and applied it to a political group to make a political statement.
