You would be shocked at how many times I have used tape to fix high tech scientific instruments...
some time back I happened to be present during the installation of some very cutting edge equipment.
I mean way out there tech, (for the time)
When they spooled that sucker up, we had fabbed covers for the J-Boxes out of ..... yup, duct tape.
And that wasn't the only place it had been used either.
The field alignment coil cooling lines were secured with it too. Not to mention half a dozen places the silver magic held sway.
In all I believe we used over a case of the stuff during test and alignment.
