"Bush, GOP mired in political quicksand."
HOWEVER, with their typical left-wing bias influencing their every action, THE MSNBC PART OF THIS POLL INCLUDED DEMOCRATS AND INDEPENDENTS without weighting their responses to reflect their ongoing prejudices against everything good, decent and American. This poll was obviously designed to bring down the President before his State of the Union address. While he will be moving his own lips, Dick Cheney will have his had up the President's backside as usual.
For good news the President and his staff are reading the Fox poll, where Bush has an approval rating of 52.6%, a negative rating of 24%, with an undecided of 23.4%. That was among Exxon shareholders with at least 10,000 shares also registered as Republicans.
They were asked, "Who has done a better job in Iraq, George Bush or Saddam Hussein?"
That approval rating was much better when asked, "Who has done a better job in Afghanistan, George Bush or Osama bin Laden?" On that question his approval rating went to 61% among employees of Abramoff & Wives of Congressmen who were also registered Republicans. There was some difficulty tracking down the Wives as they were mostly out of the country on fact-finding missions.
When asked what historical figure George Bush most reminded them of, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt or Woodrow Wilson, 98.3% of retired Independents with IQs over 117 chose Alfred E. Neuman. Asked what quality was most similar, the overwhelming response was "intelligence", although a statisically significant number replied "ears". Several noted the number of both was the same.
