Canadian diplomats shot at in Baghdad - by US soldiers
I know the US was not happy that Canada didn't join in with them in the Iraq invasion, but geez...
From CBC
She said the Canadian vehicle was following the convoy at a "safe distance" at about 20 to 25 kilometres an hour. They drove for about five minutes before the U.S. convoy pulled off the road and into a staging area behind a barrier.
"Again this kind of thing has happened all the time, according to this official, so the Canadian vehicle now carried on down the road after the convoy had pulled all the way over and off to the side," Sorenson said.
"Kaboom! They don't know what's happened. They feel they've been hit by a bomb," said Sorenson, who added that the diplomat said coarse dust had flown into their faces.
Fortutnately no one was injured, but it was far too close.
