Oh - several bloggers are also good authors - there was a hooker in london who's made a lot of money publishing her 'memoires' as it were that used to form part of a blog. They offer a voice for a lot of people to express opinions - but many forget that they are opinions and are rarely a factual record. Just about everyone with a blog is trying to make a point - and their posting within it will tend to be in an attempt to make that point. Tom - you link to a blog after blog after blog using them to explain how wonderous things are in Iraq - but one can also link to blog after blog after blog explaining how horrific things are. They're just an arsenal of opinions for people who wish to deploy them.

One thing I've never understood - why has the increase in popularity of blogs meant that everyone refers to anything that involved commenting online as a blog? This place is a discussion forum, so's my place - but so many people are refering to them as 'blogs'. ARHGHGHGHG
