I'd like to comment upon a sad state of affairs here on the ol' HZ. It's one where everyone is guilty, myself included, and which I think could be corrected rather easily. Should be corrected.

And that's the quality of the Flames. They are usually pretty bad. In fact, some "flames" deal with issues, and not personalities at all. Fer crissake folks, get a grip!

Most Flames have no subtlety, show no thought, and simply express the author's displeasure and ignorance of a fine art. I won't copy any here, as that would just open more wounds for fragile people, you know, the rigid ones, the anal, black & white thinkers, them. Don Rickles ain't sophisticated, and he would find HZ Flame Board childish.

I would hope we could become a bit creative, maybe even humorous, in our critiques of each other's quirks. Even if one had to search the web and plagarize, there are insults which may be apropos and entertaining.

But this "yer worse", and the always crushing "Oh, yeah!!" (hard to know how to respond to that one), the mainstays of
neocons, the "yer dumb" or "yer crazy", used by immature twits, are an embarrassment to polite company.

I think we can do better. If we can't, so be it. I've tried, in my nicest, most polite way, to help the HZ community over this hurdle. I know I've invited criticism, I know there will be those who will say "yer worse", yer dumb", "yer crazy and "Oh, yeah!!" I will just have to suffer those slings and arrows as best I can.

Many's the night I cry myself to sleep knowing I am not appreciated for ripping the dumb shits to shreds only for their own good, to help them into the light, where lions lay down with lambs (in their stomachs), knowing I'm sacrificing myself on the altar of public reproach when my only motive is their welfare. And our collective entertainment. And edification. Enlightenment. Happiness. Joy. Helping the ignorant, blind, stupid find their way into joy, contentment. Shoehorning them into the souls they never had.
