Al-Qaida sought to use Asian hijackers to fly jet into L.A. tower, he says.
One must consider the incredible amount of publicity which was given to finding dynamite in a car at the Canadian border, the publicity given the arrest of Padilla, an absolutely inconsequential figure in seeing if this passes the smell test.
And it doesn't. If there had been a real plot, they would have screamed, trumpeted, warned, raised threat levels, and in general made themselves self-important nuisances.
This isn't believable. Not given the neocon history. They would have had to act entirely differently than before, and the Asian papers would have had to suppress the story.
