Polenta...

Polenta vs grits

But in reality, the differences are relatively slim. Buy coarse cornmeal at the store and call it a day. And if you're out on the town and you like polenta, try ordering grits next time (and vice versa). And yes, those morning grits with a poached egg at Cowgirl Creamery really are worth a trip.

BTW, is was all in fun for me as well. I like them but hardly ever eat them because my wife hates them and will not cook them. I am too lazy to do it myself. I am a better cook than her but I am hard to motivate.

As for healthy food, I believe I have mentioned that I had a heart attack when I was 41. After a few months of trying to eat right, I gave up on it and I have eaten more or less what I want to eat. I am sure I eat somewhat more healthy than I did back then. I had a stress test before my recent surgery and the Doc said I passed with flying colors. I take a statin drug and a beta blocker along with my diabetes meds. The diabetes has more to do with better diet that my heart since I have to control my sugar. In addition to the meds I take about a dozen vitamins, A to Z and supplements including fish oil, cinnamon, ALA, CQ-10, and aspirin.

Actually it is weird that I am as healthy as I am, I never expected to live to be 74 and I probably have a better than average shot at 80. Go figure.
