I asked: "Where does anyone say the Constitution is suspended in time of war?"
Robert says:
"Where would be the White House and myriad speeches and press conferences around the world. The who would be Dubya and his minions"
Other than transmissions recieved by the tin hat people or using arcane numeralogy to decode Bush messages. Where does Bush say the Consitition is suspended in time of war?
"2) Congress gave in and authorized Bush to invade Iraq, but it has never declared war on terror. The United States is not officially at war. Even if the Constitution allowed it, there is no wartime to justify suspension of Constitutional restrictions on Bush."
I refer you to:

Specifically refer to:
"Whereas members of al Qaida, an organization bearing responsibility for attacks on the United States, its citizens, and interests, including the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, are known to be in Iraq;"
Also Congress had recent vote to immediately withdraw troops from Iraq and this huge majority [with something like only 3 votes favoring] voting against it.
Also anytime US forces are engaging enemy forces {which they are in Iraq and Afghanistan} and considering that Bush declared that Major combat operation were over and did NOT say that war was over in Iraq. It's a fairly safe bet to say that we are still at war. In addition with Donald regularly adding to total of death of US miltary- it seems rather strange for you to claim "The United States is not officially at war." Also the Congress is expected to vote sometime in future on additional emergency funding for war.
"3) Even if the Constitution allowed a President to assume broader powers during wartime, the Founders would never have been so stupid as to allow a President to assume dictatorial powers simply because he himself declares that we're at war. At a minimum they'd have required a Congressional declaration of war. And that hasn't happened."
See above.
You know it seems like there is a possiblity you confusing Lincoln's war with Bush's war.
