It may seem like I'm overly sensitive, but it's more that I err on the side of taking people seriously to avoid the mistake of not taking them seriously when I should. I've stumbled before by trying to be funny when somebody was trying to be serious, so as far as official duties go, I try to keep a sober expression plastered on my face. Then, when you snark and tell me I'm being too serious, I know that everything's right with the world.
