Actually fear does drive the suicide bombers...
In Arab society homosexuals are the greatest of sinners. Many of the suicide bombers are recruited because they show tendancies that they are told must be supressed. But they can overcome their evil inner self and do so by dying a heroic martyr's death, and at the same time avoid become a parriha because they are gay and bringing shame on their families...
Their biggest fear is that of ridicule. You can ridicule them into suicide.
