New names (for the Moon program)

The CEV becomes Altair.

The LSAM becomes Artemis.

The CLV becomes Ares.

Here.

The first astronaut I ever met was Fred Haise in 1981.

I asked him:where did the names Aquarius and Odyssey come from? (Hair and 2001).
He also said they originally thought of naming the LM "Aries" but they noticed it was difficult to understand during radio-transmissions and thought of a better one to understand.
Altair and Ares have a certain similarity with Aries.

In french I'd say :Alta-Heer for Altair and Ar-haise for Ares.
Art-ay-mees for Artemis.
Now, Altair and Ares are very similar names and they indeed sound harder to understand (through radio) than Apollo for instance.
I wonder.
